    Be a part of the “White Dot” Employee Parking Permit Program by purchasing your permits online. The Downtown Employee Parking Permit Program provides all day parking for downtown business owners and employees in designated spaces with permits properly displayed.

    The city of Los Altos offers downtown businesses the option to purchase a book of 25 all-day parking permits at a cost of $25, to be used in any of the 10 downtown parking plazas.

PARKING CITATIONS

Parking is enforced in downtown Los Altos between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for time-regulated spaces. Handicapped parking is enforced 24-hours a day throughout the City. Effective 10/01/2019, parking fines for Municipal code parking time violations are set at $54.00 for all first and second violations, and $151.00 for third and subsequent citations within a 12-month rolling period. This does not apply for fines issued for removal of chalk from tires and continued violations, which are set at $104.00.

The City of Los Altos has acquired a new parking citation vendor and is in process of migrating the data from the old system to the new. If you are trying to take care of a parking citation issued prior to September 2019 or more recently, here are your options:

METHODS OF PAYMENT

1.  Payments by Visa, MasterCard or Discover

Please have the following information ready:

  • Citation number and/or license plate number
  • Credit Card number, expiration date and billing address
  • Upon approved credit card payment, you will be provided with a confirmation number. Be prepared to document the confirmation number

2.  Payments by Mail:

Please include your citation and license plate number on your check or money order. (Do not send cash through the mail).

Avoid late charges. Do not wait until your due date to mail your payment. Payments are applied using the official postmark date provided by the Post Office.
