Traffic Commission

[ Agendas & Minutes ]

The Traffic Commission advises the City Council on traffic issues. Traffic issues include public sidewalks, paths, streets, and roadways within city limits and include access, controls, calming devices, and signage.

The Commission will:

  • Review traffic- related grant applications, and make a recommendation to council.

  • Review city studies related to speed limits if a speed zone limit change is being considered by the City Council.

  • Periodically review the Neighborhood Traffic Management Plan (NTMP) and recommend changes to the City Council.

  • Conduct two or three conferences per year on school commuting.

  • Review significant changes to traffic circulation controls, or capacity being considered within city boundaries and which will eventually be presented to the City Council for decision.

  • Review traffic-related aspects of specific development proposals when directed by council.

  • Review any changes proposed on public transit issues, which would eventually be taken to City Council for a decision.
