There are approximately 1,400 FREE public parking spaces conveniently located in Downtown Los Altos along Main and State Streets and within the parking plazas. Time limits are posted throughout the downtown and are enforced Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

The map below illustrates the location of parking and designated time limits. Two hour parking is available on Main and State Streets. Three hour parking and permitted parking is available in the parking plazas. Additionally,all day parking is available in the parking lot at First and Main Streets and in the North Parking Plaza between Third and Fourth Streets.

To avoid unnecessary parking tickets please follow posted time limits and use parking spaces that meet your needs while visiting Downtown Los Altos.

The cost of a parking ticket is $54.50 and for erasing chalk marks on tires is $104.50. It’s also important to know that if you receive one ticket it does not that mean you cannot receive another. After the first violation, if you do not move your car within posted time limits you could get additional tickets. Subsequent tickets cost $104.50.
